French Federation of Haemochromatosis Patient Associations - FFAMH
Institut Cerba supports the French Federation of Haemochromatosis Patient Associations.
This genetic disease is caused by excessive iron absorption, resulting in a gradual accumulation in the body. Left untreated, hemochromatosis evolves insidiously and can cause serious illnesses (cirrhosis, liver cancer, heart failure, etc.) that can lead to early death. Unfortunately, this illness is diagnosed very late in the majority of cases. It is therefore essential to identify it as early as possible.
The association aims to conduct a free screening campaign for the disease at Clinical Pathology laboratories in France, as well as provide information to general practitioners. Institut Cerba is supporting it in these projects via a skills sponsorship initiative.
Institut Cerba functions as a facilitator helping people to meet and hold discussions, and also seeks to serve as a forum for action, innovation, training and promotion.
